The right care for a kandura or abaya depends on its fabric, construction and embellishments. Start with the care label, then consider any stains or delicate details before choosing a service.
Everyday kanduras: wash & press
Wash and press can suit everyday cotton and cotton-blend kanduras when the care label allows it. Point out marks on the collar or cuffs and let us know how you prefer the garment finished.
When to choose dry cleaning
Some kanduras and abayas need dry cleaning because of their fabric, lining or decorative details. Follow the care label rather than choosing by fabric name alone. If you are unsure, share a photo with the branch.
Embellished abayas
- Always point out beading, embroidery or stonework when you hand the garment over
- Embellished pieces should be cleaned in gentle cycles and finished by hand
- Check the care label before washing an embellished abaya at home. Ask the branch if the instructions are unclear.
